As an Educator, How Can You Evaluate Software and Hardware Tools Used for Instructional Purposes
Teachers and students are the only people who can evaluate the software and hardware tools they are using to learn. If students and teachers collaborate and talk about the software the student is able to understand more about the program they are using. Teachers can use many strategies in determining whether a program is right for their students. First the teachers should try it out with their students, and talk to the students. Teachers should ask for feedback from the students on what their thoughts were on the program they just used. Teachers should participate in using the software as their students are, so they can discuss what they think of the technology together.
Knowing the information of each software or program a teacher uses is critical, for example knowing the name and publisher of the program. Hardware requirements are imperative, making sure that the students understand they might have to download something new on their computer in order to participate in the program at home. Also teachers should make sure that it follows the principles of learning, meaning that it engages the students and uses appropriate vocabulary at the same time. Lastly, Teachers should learn to use technology in their professional lives -- for keeping records, and for creating documents, they will soon discover the many ways in which technology can enhance what they are doing with their students!

Great job on explaining very thoroughly your view point. I agree with you that if the student and teacher discuss the software, it will be easier to understand. If the teacher knows the hardware/software forwards and backwards, they can educate others well. I liked that your last point was to have teachers use the technology in their own daily lives. It'll get them to get more familiar with it, themselves and be able to put in their own two sense about how to use the program, nonetheless, how to use the program as a teaching aide.
